Yu-Mei Huang, a Taiwanese-born textile artist based in London, is renowned for her pioneering work in knit practice. Drawing from her East Asian heritage, her creations resonate with a rich multicultural influence, intertwining diverse mediums to explore themes such as textile materiality, the body and space, cultural mobility, and displacement. Central to her practice is the exploration of textile materiality and visual information, which manifests in both conceptual ideas and tangible forms. Through experimentation with a variety of materials, she crafts intricate large-scale sculptures and installations that evoke a sensory dialogue between sight and touch. These works invite viewers to engage with the tactile qualities of the materials and immerse themselves in the spatial experience they collectively create. Yu-Mei’s innovative and expressive approach to contemporary knitting has garnered attention from prestigious luxury brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Michael Kors, and Maison Louis Maire. Additionally, she has received commissions from acclaimed singer YOGA LIN and global corporations like Coca-Cola. Her artwork has been widely recognised and featured in publications such as British Vogue, Vogue Italia, Knitting Industries Creative, Embroidery, NYLON JAPAN, WGSN, and more. One of her most successful works, the "Plisse Knit Bag," has sold hundreds and has stockists in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the online platform FARFETCH. Graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, her practice examines the boundaries of different disciplines, allowing her to work in an interdisciplinary movement. Her work has been showcased at events and exhibitions worldwide, including London Craft Week, Craft Show Spring, London Fashion Week, Cork Street Gallery (London), YIRI ARTS (Taiwan), 182artspace (Taiwan), Contemporary Textile Art Gina Morandini (Italy), and her upcoming exhibitions at ss space space (Taiwan) and the TextielMuseum (the Netherlands).

黃郁媚是一名出生於台北的針織藝術家,目前居住於倫敦。 她的作品專注於突破織品媒材框架,探討身體與空間關係,以及不同文化之流動。《Knitting Industry Creative》曾形容她的作品為「大膽且前衛的雕塑」,透過將針織技藝結合實驗性材料, 運用色彩搭配不同技法的方式,重塑當代針織工藝。擅於應用不同針織型態的他,曾獲邀與 Salvatore Ferragamo、Michael Kors、Maison Louis Maire、可口可樂等品牌與歌手林宥嘉進行 跨界合作。

畢業於英國皇家藝術學院後,她的作品曾被刊登在《British Vogue》、《Vogue Italia》、 《Knitting Industries Creative》、《Embroidery》、《NYLON JAPAN》、《WGSN》等出版 物。她的創作商品「Plisse Knit Bag」推出後也喜獲好評,並於日本、香港、台灣以及線上平台 FARFETCH等通路販售。她的作品曾參與倫敦工藝週、倫敦時裝週、Craft Show Spring(倫敦)、 Cork Street Gallery(倫敦)、伊日畫廊(台灣)、182artspace(台灣)與義大利當代纖維藝術 Gina Morandini Gallery ,並即將於 ss space space 及荷蘭織品美術館展出。
