Rut Blees Luxemburg’s art practice embraces photography, teaching and running the experimental space FILET in London.
Her photographic work deals with the representation of the city and has been shown in landmark exhibitions elles @ centrepompidou and A Handful of Dust at the Whitechapel Gallery London and National Taiwan Museum of Photography NCPI. Solo exhibitions include Phantom at Tate Liverpool and London Dust at the Museum of London. Her public work Silver Forest - a photographic cast of an urban forest - is part of the Western façade of Westminster City Hall.
Rut Blees Luxemburg is a Reader in Urban Aesthetics at the Royal College of Art, London where she is initiated the artistic research project Future Archive, whereby the process of architecture becomes a site for field study for artists. An exhibition of the Future Archive will be staged at the RIBA in June 2022 during the London Festival of Architecture with an accompanying book published by FOLIUM.
