Tehching Hsieh and On Kawara sleep and work at the same time. This DIY instruction-performance reenacts River Lin’s work Sleeping in between Tehching Hsieh and On Kawara in a context of “working from home” and being alone at home. Through staging alarm clocks with cycles of waking and sleeping, and transience and labour, audiences are invited to reflect on how they spend time or are spent by time.

林人中/ River Lin
River Lin is a performance artist working across the contexts of visual art, dance and queer culture through making, researching, and curating. His work choreographs movements of living bodies, objects, encounters and situations in gallery settings to investigate notions of heteronormative cultural representation, social engagement and performativity of mediums. His work has been presented by institutions including the Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo and Centre National de la Danse (Paris), Tokyo Real Underground Festival, the KANAL Centre Pompidou and KAAI Theatre (Brussels), Live Art Development Agency (London), ANTI Contemporary Art Festival (Kuopio), the M+ Museum (Hong Kong), Asia Contemporary Art Week (New York/ Dubai), Serendipity Arts Festival (Goa), the Rockbund Art Museum, Ming Contemporary Art Museum and TANK (Shanghai), the 2020 Taiwan Biennial, 2016 Taipei Biennial, Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab and Taipei Fine Arts Museum, and the Liveworks Festival (Sydney) among others. Born in 1984 in Taiwan, River Lin lives and works in Paris and Taipei.
行為藝術家林人中在視覺藝術、舞蹈及酷兒文化等脈絡裡進行創作、研究與策展。他經常將藝術歷史的參照植入對身體、物件、情境及相遇的運動及編排，去檢視常規文化再現、社會參與及媒介的表演性。 他的表演作品於各地藝術機構與藝術節呈現，包括巴黎龐畢度中心、東京宮美術館、法國國家舞蹈中心、東京Tokyo Real Underground藝術節、布魯塞爾龐畢度中心、倫敦現場藝術發展協會、芬蘭ANTI當代藝術節、亞洲當代藝術週、上海外灘美術館、明當代美術館、油罐藝術中心、柏林行為藝術月、芝加哥行為藝術節、格拉斯哥現場藝術節、2016台北雙年展、2020台灣雙年展、雪梨Liveworks藝術節等。曾受邀擔任2017芬蘭現場藝術獎決選團評審。 1984年生於台北，林人中現旅居巴黎。
